good neighbors fabric giveaway

It's been one year since my good neighbors fabric was released. That may be a silly thing to celebrate, but I, for one, am excited that it is still available in both yardage and pre-cuts. I have enjoyed seeing how others have used the fabric. I also enjoyed working it into all kinds of projects...from quilt backings to pincushions. To celebrate, I'm going to give away two bundles of good neighbors fabric...one in a warm colorway, one in a cool colorway. The giveaway is open to all. International entries are welcome with the stipulation that you will be willing to cover shipping costs, should you win a bundle. If you would like to throw your name into the hat, please leave me a comment in this post. In your comment, I would like to know if you tend to gravitate toward warm colors or cool colors when you are making projects and also where you are from. If you have made something with good neighbors fabric, I'd love to hear about that, too. :) I will pick a winner in a few days!

I used to use mainly warm colors but seem to be drawn to the cool colors in the last year. I have always lived in Lakeland, Florida. It is in central Florida between Tampa and Orlando. You are such an inspiration for me.Thanks for sharing your triumphs and your boo-boos.

I bought some good neighbours fabric last fall and I am busy hand piecing a Jen Kingwell quilt with it. Love the colours although I am always partial to the green and blue colour combos. I love your blog and have made a few quilts from your book, and you got me into knitting socks which I had thought I would never do....10 pairs later. Thanks for all your encouragement, Kate from Brookdale, Manitoba, Canada.

I generally like cool colors. Blues and greens are my favorites. I am from Pocatello, Idaho, but after living in Utah, Wyoming, Washington, and Montana, I now live in Michigan.

I have just gotten into quilting and I like warm and cool colors. I think I am leaning towards the warm colors in your lovely collection. I live in Utah. :0)

I am a huge fan of cool colors. Tons of greens and blues in my stash. I love the quilts others make with warmer tones but I find myself only buying cools. :-) Thanks for the chance to win!

Cool or warm colors? That's a difficult question....I like them both! The clothing I wear is predominantly warm colors due to my complexion, but my quilting seems to gravitate towards the cool jewel colors. I live in Birmingham Alabama & we have greenery & sunshine year round even when it gets cold - maybe that influences my quilting choices. Would love to win either bundle of your fabric line. Thanks so much for all the things your share on your blog. - Beth

I'm afraid it depends on the day/week/month/season of my life! :) Currently in Nebraska and wishing for cooler weather to move in...so perhaps right now I'm a cool color girl! :)

Ooooh, so hard to choose. I seem to vacillate between cool and warm depending on the season, actually. I haven't used your collection, but I really admire it. Thanks for a great blog and this generous giveaway!

I have made a baby quilt from a charm pack of good neighbors, then I ordered the layer cake bundle so I could make one or two more. I would love to have more as I enjoyed sewing with it so much. I probably gravitate toward warm colors the most but I really appreciate the cool tones, too. thanks for the chance to win.

I love your fabric line and tried to incorporate the aquas into a quilt in progress. Alas, they didn't blend as I had hoped. Was actually just considering revisiting your line to purchase some of the cool colors for a summer quilt

I like saturated jewel tones, from ruby to emerald, so a mix of non pastel warm and cool.

Sorry, I forgot to add my two bits about color.

I tend to go with more warm darker colors for some reason but I am getting into using more bright colors so I would really love this set!

I am from Calgary, Alberta.

I love this fabric, though my quilting budget is pretty low so I've only admired it through my computer screen so far :) I gravitate towards the cool colours, for sure. I'm from Canada :) Thanks for the chance to win.

I love all colour even white which is lack of colour. It's a fabulous giveaway, thank you so much from Australia. To Aussies, it,s a mix of Blues for ocean and skies, and reds and deep reds and orange for our deserts. It's a colour way I'm drawn to in a national sense, and one I love after living in the far north for 20 years. Once seen, never forgotten.
Thank you

Glad to see you back! I love fabric haven't seen this line, would love to try it. I love cool colors but my hubby loves fall, so either way works for me love them both here in Crosby, Texas!

Mary Marcotte said...

Hmm, I think I gravitate toward blues most of all (so cool colors) but I really love all colors. I'm from Louisiana and one of the my favorite things about going away is coming home to the greens in our landscape. It's amazing that we can tell how close we are to home just based on the color of the land. Are you suggesting that there's a quilter out there who hasn't used Good Neighbors? Surely not! I like to use a sprinkle of it in projects. It's a hard-working line that can go into almost any project!

Living in the Pacific Northwest I probably gravitate toward any colors that can offer some brightness to offset the dreariness that can often hang about. Your fabrics would be great for a baby quilt for a co-worker having their first child.

Hi Amanda! I would say it depends. Looking at fabric around my crafting space I see cool stacks and warm stacks, maybe it depends on the season I am in when I pull a project. I quilt in S.E. Wisconsin!

I love the Good Neighbors line! Warm or cool colors would work for me...I just want the fabric!!

Unknown said...

I seem to have lots of blue and green scraps so I must gravitate towards cool colors. I'd like to make something with Good Neighbors fabric - they are wonderful prints but I don't buy too much fabric online. I do like to shop at Grubers when I get up there from Buffalo, MN. My regular email is marie dot jacobs at outlook dot com although I think I have to sign in with a google account. And welcome back!

This fabric is easily the most useful I have seen in at least a year! I got some as soon as it came out, and know I will continue to get more as I am able. I love warm colors, but I tend to use them up as soon as they arrive!

While I sew with lots of blues, I tend to mix them with the warmer colors. Still, probably the cool tones. Southern Utah is my home. Maybe since I live in red rock and sage brush country, I'm glad to see blues and greens in anything. Thanks

cshamp said...

I love greens and blues, so I am squarely in the Cool Colors group! I live in WNY, where we've had unseasonably warm temperatures and I haven't felt much like quilting lately. I'm sure that will change once fall weather hits, though!

Lately it has been cooler colors for me. With our cooler MN evenings, maybe it's time to quilt something warm?!?

I am from California and haven't yet run across the Good Neighbors line in my local store. In my mind I like warm colors but then I seem to work with cool colors. However, my favorite is just bright colors. Actually, I just made the Checkerboard quilt from Sunday morning quilts and it is my favorite ever! I have been putting aside fabric bits for almost 2 years!

Amanda, I'm from Iowa, and I tend to work with warm AND cool colors, depending on how I feel--guess I just love all fabrics! And I love your Good Neighbors line and made a lap quilt with them, using the Nina pattern from GE Designs--a fun pattern. So if I won some more of that same fabric, it would be in good company with my leftovers. Thanks for the chance.
